Animators, special effects artists, editors and directors to collaborate in near real-time on their animations no matter where they are. Yotta's infrastructure will reduce time to market for producers and increase the quality of production for users.

The digital media industry depends heavily on the computing power of HPC clusters to create the imagery and special effects in movies. It has pushed the boundaries of hardware and software to enable maximum realism in the work they produce. Concurrently, availability and affordability of processing power have enabled massive advances in digitial media, particularly computer generated images (CGI)

Dense infrastructures provided by HPC enable the achievement of high performance while conserving data centre space and reducing power requirements for rendering. While a single frame of a CGI movie may take several hours, depending on complexity, to render on a single processor, HPC clusters have reduced the time to render a frame to a couple of seconds. Rendering is a perfect example of an embarrassingly parallel problem that can take advantage of HPC. Several frames can be rendered simultaneously, independently, or one per node. Rendering software uses multi-threading on a node to compute multiple channels (diffuse or reflected light, refraction, etc.) at once, which it then combines to generate the frame.
